ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday reinstated Ghulam Mahmood Dogar as Lahore CCPO.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan heard the case. During the hearing, Lawyer Abid Zuberi said that Ghulam Mehmood Dogar was reinstated by the Federal Service Tribunal, but the two-member bench of tribunal suspended the reinstatement decision. The decision of a two-member bench of tribunal cannot be suspended by another two-member bench. The government's review petition was also pending before the tribunal.

Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked that how can one bench of tribunal suspend the decision of another bench? On the one hand, the special bench said that application is premature and suspended the order. Justice Mazahir Naqvi inquired how the Lahore High Court said that constitutional petition is not admissible. On which, lawyer Abid Zuberi said that the provincial government did not want to release the CCPO.

The court adjourned the hearing for indefinite time while ordering the reinstatement of CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.
