Sustainable progress impossible without alleviating poverty: Maleeha Lodhi

NEW YORK (92 News) – Pakistan's Representative to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi has said that sustainable progress is impossible without poverty alleviation. Addressing a debate on challenges faced by mediocre countries in the United Nations on Wednesday, she said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring prosperity in the region. She said that 73 percent poor people live in developing countries having mediocre income. “Investment in developing countries has sped up international progress,” he maintained. Dr Maleeha Lodhi said that CPEC is a glaring example of partnership among developing countries.
