System of providing free flour to people can be continued after Ramazan if it goes well: Caretaker CM

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the system of providing free flour to people can be continued even after Ramazan if it goes well, however, it is difficult to deliver flour to people at their homes.

Talking to the media after paying a visit to the Mazar-e-Iqbal on the eve of Pakistan Day, he said that the rent of tents was Rs 2.40 billion last year.

"Now we want to transfer this whole financial benefit to the people. Previously, a land cruiser bearer was also getting flour on a subsidized rate. Now only the deserving will be given free of cost flour. The people can make registration for the Benazir Income Support Programme to get free of cost flour. Orders have started been implemented to give flour to those without a chip in their CNIC after registering them in a register," he added.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that in order to ensure transparency registration on a computer and the system has been ensured in order to obtain flour. "Rs five million flour bags have been distributed among the deserving persons across Punjab in the past few days. I myself is visiting the field in order to review and ensure free distribution of flour," he added.
