He also held separate meetings with Defence Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs and Chairman State Committee of National Security. During the meeting, various areas of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation and defence relations came under discussion.

They also exchanged views on security, counter-terrorism and prevailing regional environment particularly with reference to Afghanistan. Both discussed measures to enhance level and scope of military engagements between both countries & reaffirmed to continue 2 forge deeper ties.

On this occasion, the CJCSC said Pakistan is keen to expand its existing bilateral military to military cooperation with Tajikistan. The dignitaries lauded professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged sacrifices in fight against terrorism.

Earlier, upon arrival at Ministry of Defence, the CJCSC was presented Guard of Honour by contingent of Tajikistan’s Armed Forces.
