Talks between govt and opposition in parliament are a good sign, says Fawad Chaudhary

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhary has said that talks between the government and the opposition in the parliament are a good sign.

In a briefing after the cabinet meeting on Monday, he said that the government wants to move ahead with talks for the electoral reforms. He said that the government is going to introduce electronic voting system. "20 electronic voting machines (EVMs) have been taken from a private company. Giving the right to vote to overseas Pakistanis will be an integral part of the elections."

He said that the government was ready for talks with the opposition and wanted to continue the talks with the opposition in the parliament. "No party has talked about the electoral reform in the past. The prime minister has directed Ali Muhammad Khan and Babar Awan to liaise with the opposition," he maintained.

Fawad Chaudhry said that if a case was against Shehbaz Sharif is tried daily, he could go to jail for 25 years. He said that overseas Pakistanis are the asset of Pakistan.
