Tanker containing 50,000 liters oil overturns on motorway M5

RAHIM YAR KHAN (92 News) – A tanker containing 50,000 liters oil overturned on the motorway (M5) in Rahim Yar Khan on Monday. According to the rescue, a loaded oil tanker overturned on M5 near in Rahim Yar Khan. The rescue teams reached at the spot and surrounded the area. The rescue operation is underway. The rescue official said that the tanker has contained 50,000 liters oil and it was on its way from Karachi to Sahiwal when its driver fell asleep at the wheel. The injured person was shifted to a local hospital for medical attention. Due to the accident, traffic on that portion of motorway remained blocked for many hours to avoid any untoward incident. Earlier, four people died of burns and multiple injuries after a passenger van collided with an oil tanker in Hazarganji area of Quetta early. Police and rescue services said the head-on collision caused fire in the oil tanker. Among the dead were drivers of both vehicles. Chief Fire Officer Quetta said four fire-tenders took part in the fire fighting. The bodies were shifted to Quetta’s district hospital for legal formalities.
