Tayyaba Torture Case: SC orders DIG Islamabad to probe the incident

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Wednesday ordered the Islamabad Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) to investigate the torture incident and submit report in 10 days. Tayyaba, the minor housemaid who was allegedly tortured by the wife of judicial officer, was presented before the Supreme Court. During the proceedings, Police submitted investigation report in the court stating that medical report has revealed that she was tortured and burnt as well. The Chief Justice asked the father of the minor housemaid that about forgiving those who tortured his daughter to which the father of Tayyaba namely Azam said that that he is not aware of anything in this regard, adding that he had only given thumb impression on the papers given by their lawyer. The CJP further asked Azam if he contacted Nadra or the persons where his daughter was working after seeing her condition to which Tayyaba’s father said that he only contacted the lawyer. The apex court ordered the DIG Islamabad to investigate the incident and submit report in 10 days. The court further adjourned the hearing till January 18.
