Interior Minister Ch Nisar orders re-verification of all CNICs

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Ch Nisar has ordered re-verification of the Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) of 180 million people. The decision was made during a high-level of the NADRA and Passport officials at NADRA Headquarters on Wednesday. Addressing the meeting, the minister also ordered to cancel the CNICs of all foreigners. “The NADRA and corruption cannot go side by side,” he said. He gave a two-day deadline to the NADRA to prepare a roadmap for the re-verification of the CNICs. “Fake CNICs are a source of shame for me, perhaps it’s not for you,” he said. The minister said that the officers getting high salaries should go to their homes if they could not detect fake documents. He said that no apology would be accepted with regard to fake CNICs and passports.
