LAHORE (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated Special Technology Zone, Lahore Technopolis, in Lahore on Thursday.

Addressing the ceremony, he said that the government has to approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF) due to shortage of dollars in the country.

"The country cannot attract investment until good governance. It cannot make progress without an increase in exports. The country will make progress through a revolution in the information technology," he maintained.

The prime minister said that the technology sector alone can end the dollar deficit.

The prime minister also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for US$300 million.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that tax would not be charged in the special technology zone for 10 years.

The technology zone has been constructed under Lahore Knowledge Park Company, where huge investment is being made to enhance export potential in technology.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will also chair different meetings in Lahore.

Later, he will inaugurate Government College University New Campus and Abul Hassan Ash Shadhili Research Center in Sufism Science and Technology.
