CHAMAN (92 News) – The situation at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border remains tense for the third consecutive day following the firing incident by the Afghan border forces which left many dead and several others injured.

The security forces have taken up position at strategic places to defend the Pakistani territory from fresh bombing and shelling from the Afghan forces.

Pakistan Army also moved heavy weapons close to the Afghan border to respond effectively to any misadventures from the Afghan security forces.

The Chaman border crossing remained closed for third consecutive day due to which long queue of vehicles can be seen on both sides of the borders. Due to the tense situation, the census exercise has also been stalled in the borders areas.

Mass evacuation continued as dozens of families were affected in the unprovoked firing and shelling from the Afghan forces on the Pakistani settlements inside the Pakistani border leaving 12 people killed and more than 40 injured.
