Tension after PU clash as book fair postponed

LAHORE (92 News) – Tensions continue in Punjab University after the clash between two groups in Punjab University on Tuesday.

 

The book fair which was to be held on April 4 has been postponed.

 

The police have registered a case of strife while an eight-member fact finding committee has been constituted to investigate the matter.

 

Heavy contingents of police have been deployed at various blocks of the university.

 

A search operation is also underway in the university and several suspected persons have been held from the hostels.

 

Several students were injured as the stick-wielding activists of Islami Jamiat-e-Tulba attacked the Pashtoon Cultural Festival being held in Punjab University on Tuesday.
