KARACHI (92 News) - Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has emphatically stated that terrorists have no religious or ideological moorings rather only misguided conception forced through coercion or inducement.
He said this during his visit to Karachi along with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday.
The Army Chief said that Pakistanis have always rejected and defeated terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations.
He said contrary to political and other distractions being faced by the public, the security forces remain singularly focused on counter terrorism and Intelligence based operations (IBOs) which are being conducted all over the country with pronounced success.
General Syed Asim Munir further said that nation can overcome such challenges with kinetic actions only, which needs mutual trust, will of the people and synergy among all stakeholders.
Both Chief Minister and the Army Chief were briefed about the Karachi Police Office (KPO) incident at Corps Headquarters.
They also visited Karachi Police Office where last night successful coordinated Counter Terrorism operation involving Pak Army Special Service Group (SSG), Pakistan Rangers Sindh & Sindh Police cleared the site while sending all terrorists to hell.
Subsequently the Chief Minister and Army Chief also visited Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and met the injured soldiers of Police and Pakistan Rangers Sindh.
They praised the bravery, morale and sacrifices of Army, Police and Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) in the line of duty.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sindh stated that state acknowledges and salutes innumerable sacrifices rendered by Law Enforcing Agencies and nation’s unbreakable resolve against terrorism.
