Terrorists’ safe havens in Afghanistan should be eliminated: Kh Asif

WASHINGTON (92 News) – Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif has said that terrorists’ safe havens in Afghanistan should be eliminated. Addressing the US Institute of Peace on Thursday, he said that Pakistan has played an important role in controlling terrorism. “Occupied Kashmir is an example of state terrorism from India,” he maintained. Reacting to Indian Air Chief’s statement about targeting the nuclear assets, he said that they will give India such a reply that no one can even think about it. He said that India had not given a suitable response to steps taken by Nawaz Sharif for peace. “Pak-India relations can be improved if India stops provocation on the border and state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir,” he maintained. About the Pak-US relations, he said that the US is concealing its defeat in Afghanistan by leveling allegations against Pakistan. “Everyone knows the fact that who had created the Taliban,” he said. Foreign Minister Kh Asif said that Pakistan wants to cooperate with the US. “The stability in Afghanistan will benefit Pakistan. Why will Pakistan not seek peace,” he said. He was of the view that the Las Vegas incident is also terrorism, but the US is terming it firing. About the war against terrorism, the minister said that Pakistan is winning the war against terrorism. “The world is losing this war. Pakistan is not supporting any terrorist organization. Pakistan formed seminaries to support the US Jihad. These seminaries were formed to form the base for Jihadis, which was a mistake,” he added. Khawaja Asif said that there are 3.5 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan. “We asked the US to rehabilitate the Afghan refugees in Afghanistan, but it did not respond,” he said.
