There’s need to forget past, look at future for Afghan peace talks: Moeed

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - National Security Adviser (NSA) Moeed Yusuf has said that Pakistan cannot afford instability in Afghanistan at any cost, saying that there’s a need to forget the past and look at the future in Afghanistan.

He said while talking to the journalists at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington.

The national security adviser clarified that he never complained about President Joe Biden not calling Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. "A call is not an issue at all, Biden may call PM Khan when he wants, the advisor said.

Yusuf said that the Afghan government and the Taliban will have to compromise to reach a peace deal, the national security advisor said. He further maintianed that Pakistan has conveyed that it will not accept the forceful takeover of Kabul.

"PM Imran Khan has raised a voice against India’s Aug 5, action and atrocities in Kashmir at every global forum. We don’t want confrontation with any county, the advisor said. We want friendly and brotherly relations with everyone," the adviser mentioned.
