Thick fog blankets large parts of Punjab
December 14, 2016
LAHORE (92 News) – Over the past few days thick fog has settled across many parts of the Punjab. Fog has caused major disruption to transport, bringing traffic to a standstill and causing major disruption at airports. Dense fog is prevailing at different sections of Motorway and National Highway. The motorway M-2 from Lillah interchange to Lahore and M-3 from Faisalabad to Pindi Bhattian is closed for all types of traffic. Similarly, M-4 from Faisalabad to Gojra is also closed while dense fog is prevailing at National Highway from Kharian to Lahore. Foggy conditions are likely to prevail over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours. Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next 12 hours. During the day, the sun tries to burn through the fog, its heat causing the water droplets to evaporate. However, at this time of year, the sun is often weak and the fog can be very dense. Therefore it can linger throughout the day.
