Thin attendance on first day as schools reopen in Punjab, KPk

LAHORE (92 News) – Thin attendance was observed on the first day as public and private schools reopened after the winter vacation in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday. Earlier on January 6, the Punjab government had extended the winter vacation till January 12. On January 31, the Punjab government had extended the winter vacations until January 6. The vacations were extended because of the drop in the mercury. Punjab Education Minister Murad Ras confirmed that schools will remain closed due to the lingering impact of winter and foggy weather conditions persisting in plains across the province. The Punjab government had announced winter vacations for educational institutions from December 24. According to the notification issued by Education Department, the educational institutions of the province will remain closed till 31 December. However, the school will re-open on January 1 after holidays.
