Thousands of faithful observe Aitekaf across country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Thousands of faithful sit in Aitekaf across the country on Thursday. Only 15 people have been allowed to sit in Aitekaf in Faisal Mosque. Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the government has allowed to observe Aitekaf on the limited scale. Only four to five people instead of collective Aitekaf have been allowed to sit in mosques as per the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the government. Meanwhile, the children and aged persons have not been allowed to observe the Aitekaf. According to SOPs, in case of non-compliance with SOPs, the responsible will be held accountable Only the mosques have having enough space and ensuring the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) have been allowed Aitekaf. The faithful observing Aitekaf sit in seclusion in mosques and worship till the sighting of the Shawwal moon. During this period, they will offer special prayers and seek Allah Almighty’s blessings and mercy. In major mosques, lectures from religious scholars have been specially arranged for Aitekaf observers.
