Thousands of people evacuated from coastal areas, says Sindh CM

KARACHI (92 News) - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that thousands of people have been evacuated from the coastal areas.

Talking to the media on Tuesday, he said that Keti Bandar had been evacuated and about 13,000 people have been shifted to safe places.

He said that over 5,000 people from Ghora Bari area are likely to be affected by the cyclone. "Hundreds of people have been shifted to safe places. Out of 4,000 people, about 3,000 have been evacuated from Fazal Rahu locality. About 3,000 people from Badin localities and 5,000 from Shah Bandar will be shifted to safe areas," he added.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the people did not want to leave their houses, but there was no option except to shift them.

Later, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah paid emergency visits to several areas of Karachi without protocol. He reviewed the billboards and other weak installations.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi had a telephonic conversation. Mohsin Naqvi assured full cooperation to deal with the cyclone Biparjoy.
