LAHORE (92 News) – On the recommendations of the Punjab Assembly’s Special Committee, the Home Department has banned three books carrying blasphemous content. A notification in this regard has been issued. According to the notification, the authorities have been directed to confiscate all copies of the books. Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that the ban had closed the door for the publications presenting the historical facts in a wrong way. PML-Q’s Hafiz Ammar Yasir had raised the matter in Punjab Assembly first of all. Earlier on June 6, the Punjab Assembly had ordered an immediate ban on three controversial books and confiscation of all copies available in the market. The resolution presented by Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that people’s sentiments are hurt by the content against holy personalities. “It is blow to our faith,” he said. It said that they would not desist from sacrificing their power, wealth and children for their faith. “It will be a blessing for all of us to embrace martyrdom while defending our faith,” it stated. The resolution said that it was time to give a proof of their love and loyalty to the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). “The entity of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is the only source of our forgiveness,” the resolution stated.
