Six civilians killed as Indian forces open fire on peaceful protest in Budgam

BADGAM (92 News) – Six civilians were shot dead while five others were injured as Indian forces opened fire on peaceful protesters in Delwin area of Charari Sharief in Budgam district of Occupied Kashmir on Sunday.

 

The youth were martyred after protests erupted in the area in retaliation to the firing by Indian forces on protesters.

 

Four youth were hit by pellets in Batru area of Charari Sharief.

 

A police officer confirmed that situation is highly tense in Chadoora, Charari Sharief and Beerwah areas.

 

Meanwhile, complete shutdown is being observed against sham Indian parliamentary elections being held for Srinagar constituency, today.

 

The constituency consists of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal districts. The call for the shutdown was given by Hurriyat leaders. 

 

Stringent measures in the name of security have been taken with deployment of Indian troops and police personnel across the territory, causing huge inconvenience to the people.
