Three-day fruit boycott begins
June 2, 2017

LAHORE/KARACHI (92 News) – The country-wide boycott of fruits started on Friday following a call on social media asking people to do so in order to bring down the soaring prices.

As the Ramazan is observed with one common aspect which a number of countries follow: reduction in prices. However, when it comes to Pakistan, the prices skyrocket either just before Ramadan or during it.

Like other parts of the country, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also joined the three-day boycott of expensive fruits. People in Peshawar and other parts of the province have displayed banners and placards as part of the campaign.

Many citizens believe that this is the only solution to the prevailing problem. “I will boycott the purchase of fruits for sure,” said one of the citizens.

Rising prices in Ramazan have forced the frustrated consumers across Pakistan to boycott fruit buying for three days

Consumer Rights Group across Pakistan had requested common people not to buy fruits on June 2, 3 & 4 a protest against price hike since the start of Ramzan.

A 3-day boycott will dent the seller for weekend premium price sale when most consumers does the weekly grocery for the household. It may sound tough but only we as a consumer can force the seller to be on knees, not everything is government job you too have a duty towards society and your fellow countrymen, make the wise choice be an active part of the campaign.
