Four girls die in roof collapse incidents in Punjab cities

LAHORE (92 News) – Three girls were killed in roof collapse incidents in different cities of Punjab during the last 24 hours. The girls died in Haveli Lakha, Karak and Gujranwala. Moreover, 15 people were injured in the rain-related incidents. The rain continued to lash different cities with intervals. Hailstorm destroyed crops in different cities. In several rural areas, emergency has been declared due to floods. In Peshawar, the power supply was suspended due to rains. As many as 36 people have died in the rain spell continuing in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Owing to the incessant rains, several low-lying areas have been inundated. According to the Met Office, a westerly wave is affecting most upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist in upper parts till Wednesday night. On Tuesday night, widespread dust-thunderstorm/rain accompanied by gusty winds hit Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi, Kalat, Sukkur, Larkana divisions and Gilgit Baltistan. More dust-thunderstorm/rain accompanied by gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Gujranwala division and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad and Gilgit Baltistan. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
