SRINAGAR (92 News) – At least three Indian soldiers were killed and another missing in a fierce gunbattle with militants in a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwar. One militant has been killed in a separate encounter in the district. The Indian soldiers lost their lives in a gunbattle with the terrorists, while another missing during a gunbattle in Haphruda forest in Handwara following information. In a separate encounter, Indian forces killed a militant during an encounter in Lolab area of Kupwara. The Indian forces suspect more militants could be hiding in the densely forested area. A massive combing operation was initiated on Sunday evening after the army received specific inputs about presence of heavily armed militants in the area.
