15 killed, 32 injured as another residential building collapses in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – At least 14 people were killed while 32 others injured after a multi-storey residential building collapsed near Rizvia Police Station in Karachi. The deceased included seven women and four children while the condition of six from 32 injured is stated to be critical.. However, Pakistan Army, police, Rangers, Edhi and fire Brigade teams including rescue officials are busy to recover the people trapped under the rubble. Rescue activities are under way to recover the people trapped under the debris. The Pak Army jawans are also participating in the rescue activities. According to details, a multi-storey residential building has collapsed at Karachi’s Golimar Number 2 area in Rizvia Society.  karachi residential building Rizvia police station rubble The rescue officials and police personnel arrived at the scene and launched operation. The victims are being shifted to the hospital for medical assistance. Teams of Police and Rangers have also reached Golimar Number 2 area and cordoned off the area. It was also reported that the adjoined buildings were also damaged during the incident. The lower portion of the building was already damaged and the entire building was said to be in quite a shabby condition.
Sindh CM takes notice
Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and sought report from the concerned authorities. He had suspended the relevant officers. Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Mahar has directed Central Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammad Arif Aslam Rao to head the rescue operation in the area.
