RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Three soldiers were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in North Wazirstan District on Tuesday. According to a press release issued by the ISPR, the soldiers were of patrolling in the area when the blast occurred. Another jawan was injured and shifted to hospital. The martyred soldiers include Sepoy Sajid, Sepoy Riyasat and Sepoy Babar. The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the area. On October 29, six soldiers and five citizens were injured in an exchange of fire between Afghan and Pakistan security forces along Pak-Afg border in Arundu village, Chitral. According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday, Afghan security forces fired mortars and heavy machine guns from Nari District, Kunar province and targeted civil population. As a result, six soldiers and five citizens, including a woman, were injured. Pakistan troops responded effectively and targeted Afghan border posts – Kandkxi and Dilbar – from where fire was opened and caused substantial damage to them. However, fire was stopped after engagement at the military level. On Sept 20, Major Adeel Shahid was martyred in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast at Pak-Afghan border. According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), a Pakistan Army Major and a Sepoy embraced martyrdom at Pak-Afghan border as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast planted by terrorists. In a tweet, the DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the blast occurred in Mohmand tribal area wherein an IED planted by terrorists across the border exploded. As a result, Major Adeel Shahid and Sepoy Faraz Hussain embraced martyrdom. The director general ISPR said that squad under the martyred officer was supervising fencing work in an area which carried critical infiltration route. “Shaheeds (martyrs) fell victim to an IED planted by terrorists from across the border,” he told. “Major Adeel Shahid & Sepoy Faraz Hussain embraced shahadat on Pak-Afg Border in Mohmand Distt.
