Three terrorists killed as security forces foil attack on Chinese Consulate

KARACHI (92 News) – Security forces foiled a terrorist attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi this morning, killing three terrorists while two policemen and as many citizens embraced martyrdom. According to the ISPR, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has lauded the great sacrifice of policemen who embraced martyrdom while fighting against terrorists. “Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Police and other LEAs responded with professional excellence. We stay determined to root out terrorism and militancy from our motherland,” he said. Meanwhile, security agencies have identified the killed terrorists as Razaq of Kharan, a former employee of the Balochistan government, Azal Khan Mari alias Sangat Dada and Raees Baloch. Three people, including alleged owner of the vehicle used by terrorists, have also been arrested. According to the sources in the police, all staffers of Chinese Consulate remained safe in the incident. The security of Chinese Consulate and other sensitive installations has been tightened. A prompt response from the security agencies has successfully repelled the attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi. Three police guards posted here embraced martyrdom during exchange of fire with the militants. According to eyewitnesses, at least three attackers attempted to enter in Karachi’s Clifton Block 4 on Friday morning and were challenged by the security guards. As per eyewitnesses, three men possessing hand grenades and other weapons fired near the Chinese consulate around 9:30am. They also said that the assailants are said to have been reached the rooftop of the Consulate and firing from there. Meanwhile, small explosions are also being heard from time to time and smoke can be seen in the Consulate premises. Following to incident heavy contingent of police and Rangers have arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, the clearance operation is underway. The hand grenades, Kalashnikov bullets, magazines and explosives were recovered from the possession of the terrorists outside Chinese Consulate in Karachi. Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR) The Inter Services Public Relations said, “Terrorists attempted to enter Chinese consulate. Rangers and police have got control. Three terrorists killed. All Chinese safe. Situation under control.” Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Talking to the 92 News, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the anti- forces against the progress of Pakistan are doing these coward conspiracies. “The efforts are being to create hurdles between the exemplary relationship of Pakistan and China. All the staff of Chinese Consulate remained safe in the incident,” he said. Karachi Police chief Dr Amir Shaikh Speaking to the journalists, Karachi Police chief Dr Amir Shaikh said that three attackers managed to enter the premises of the Consulate but could not enter the compound. All three of them were killed during operation by the law enforcement agencies. Governor Sindh Imran Ismail Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has also taken notice of the incident and has sought a report from IG Sindh in this regard. Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah Taking notice of the incident, Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah directed the police officials to take all the necessary steps to ensure security of the consulate. The CM also talked to the Consul General and assured him that everything will be controlled. Foreign Office “We condemn the attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi. Security forces took charge. Three terrorists killed. All Chinese safe,” FO spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said, in his tweet after the attack.   PTI's Faisal Vawda visits consulate PTI leader Faisal Vawda visited the consulate after the attack. "Police and Rangers successfully foiled the attack and did not let the suspects enter," he said. “I have reached here on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he said.
