Three varsities closed in Punjab for poor security

LAHORE/MULTAN (92 News) – Following the closure of schools throughout Punjab, as many as three universities including Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), and Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) have been closed until January 31 after the poor security arrangements.

Multan police carried out a search operation in Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), sealed the hostels and closed the varsity until February 1. The students living in the university’s hostels were sent to their homes through varsity’s transport.

On the other hand, at least four educational institutions have been sealed for poor security in Bahawalpur, while 65 schools and colleges have been sealed in Khanewal.

The educational institutions in other cities of Punjab including Daska and Sahiwal have also been closed, while the campus of a private university was also sealed in Layyah.
