TikTok craze claims another life, student shoots himself while filming video

ABBOTTABAD (92 News) – In a shocking incident, TikTok craze claimed another life as a 10th grade student accidentally shot himself dead while filming video on Friday. According to the reports, the incident took place in Bagan neighbourhood of Abbottabad where Abdul Samad was filming video with a pistol. He accidentally squeezed the trigger, fatally injuring himself. His body was shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities. The craze for the free video-sharing app that allows users to create and share short 15-second videos, has resulted in a number of such incidents in the country. Earlier, a boy, 17-year-old Tanveer, shot himself dead while filming for the highly popular video-sharing social networking platform TikTok in the port city’s Sachal Colony. His body was shifted to a nearby medical facility for medico-legal formalities, the police said. They said the police have launched an investigation into the matter. Earlier on Dec 30, a first-year student Ammar Haider has lost his life while taping TikTok video with his friends in Sialkot. There were different statements about the death of the boy as his friends claimed that Ammar fired himself while making the video, while family of the deceased accused Ammar’s friends for murdering him. Ammar was holding a pistol while making the video along with his friends. During the investigation launched by the police form the both deceased’ friends who were along with him during the incident.
