DASKA (92 News) – PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz said that today it has again been proved that the government robbed the vote of the masses in Daska.

In a tweet on Friday, she said that only re-election will not work out. "They will have to answer to the crime of the vote theft and kidnap of the ECP staff," she said.

Congratulated all lions of the PML-N, she said that the workers had countered the vote thief coterie as well as guarded their votes.

Earlier on Friday, the Supreme Court upheld the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to hold re-polling in the entire National Assembly constituency of NA-75 in Daska.

A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Umer Ata Bandial, heard the petition of PTI candidate Ali Asjad Malhi, challenging the ECP order, declaring the by-election at NA-75 Daska void and ordering re-polling in the whole constituency.

The by-election were held in the Sialkot constituency on February 19. Its results became controversial after presiding officers of some polling stations went ‘missing’ and came with results the next day. The PML-N challenged the results in the Election Commission and the electoral body ordered re-polling in the entire constituency.

PTI’s Asjad Ali Malhi, who contested the by-elections, approached the Supreme Court and challenged the ECP’s decision. His petition has been dismissed.
