Imran Khan demands resignation of chief election commissioner

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - PTI chairman Imran Khan has termed the success of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the by-elections an outcome of teamwork.

Addressing the nation on Monday, he said that the youth played a key role in stopping rigging for the success.

"The people replied to the conspiracy through their votes. They rejected the thieves like the past," he maintained. "Today political crisis is due to the economic crisis. The rupee should have been strengthened at the time of signing the IMF deal, but rupee further depreciated. The economy will continue to slide till political crisis in the country."

He said that the fair election is the only solution to come out of the crisis. "The chief election commissioner has become controversial and he should resign immediately," he added.

Imran Khan said that an artificial political crisis was created during the PTI government. "According to the Economic Survey, the country made huge economic progress during our last two years. All economic indicators were positive," he added.

He said that the industry and agriculture were on the right path. "The textile broke all records. We took the country towards the welfare state. Interest-freee loans were being given to the people," he added.
