Toll of martyrs in Data Darbar suicide blast rises to 12

LAHORE (92 News) – The death toll in the Data Darbar suicide blast increased to 12 on Friday. According to the details, another boy, who was injured in suicide blast near Data Darbar, died and the toll of martyrs rises to 12. The martyred was resident of Lohari Gate, identified as Mudassir 19-years-old. He was under treatment in Meo Hospital. On the other hand, the identification of allegedly suicide bomber was become a great trouble. The blast took place to the opposite side of the suicide bomber, however, the footage of safe city cameras created conflict in the matter. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar inquired the health of injured persons in Meo Hospital. The attacker is said to be 16 and was wearing ‘shalwar’ and ‘kameez’. His body parts have been sent to the forensic agency. The funeral prayers for the four martyred policemen were offered in Police Lines. Later, they were buried in their ancestral areas with state honours. On the other hand, the bodies of three people of a family who were martyred in the blast have been shifted to Basti Jhandaywali, Multan. On Wednesday, 10 people, including four policemen, were martyred while 25 others injured in the suicide attack on a police van outside Data Darbar. The martyred policemen included Muhammad Sohail, Shahid Nazir and Muhammad Saleem. Muhammad Sadam Hussain, Gulzar Ali, Muhammad Ijazul Haq and Muhammad Kamran are among the injured police officers. Talking to the media, IGP Punjab Capt (retd) Arif Nawaz said that eight people, including five cops of the Elite Force, were martyred and 25 others injured. He said that it was a suicide blast. The IGP Punjab said that seven kilograms of explosive was used in the blast. Sources said that the same explosive was used in the blast which was used in the blast on Mall Road. The suicide attacker is said to be between 15 and 17 years. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar have expressed heartfelt condolences over the loss of precious lives in the blast. They directed the hospital administration to provide the best possible treatment to the injured. They expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
