KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah removed the Karachi South SSP Zubair Sheikh for negligence during the torture on the MQM rally.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani said that the chief minister had ordered the inquiry about the incident and the Home secretary presented the report.

"On January 26, the MQM leaders had violated the protest route. International players were residing in the hotels located in Red Zone. The protesters entered the Red Zone for a delay in action against them. As a result, the players could not go to stadium for practice," he added.

The minister said that the police had tortured and injured several people, including an MPA. "The CM has also sought explanation from South Zone DIG Sharjeel Kharal. A disciplinary action has been ordered against SSP Zubair Sheikh. Moreover, the chief minister has also suspended the constable who tortured the MPA," he concluded.
