Torturing couple in Islamabad: Rape, extortion charges included in FIR

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The police have included rape, extortion charges in Usman Mirza case for harassing and assaulting a couple in Islamabad.

While addressing a press conference on Monday, Islamabad Police DIG Afzal Kausar said that the following sections 375 (rape), 384 (punishment for extortion), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 114 (abettor present when offence is committed), 395 (punishment of dacoity), 496-A (enticing or taking away or detaining with criminal intent a woman), 377-B (sexual abuse) of the Pakistan Penal Code have been included in the FIR registered against Usman Mirza.

The men were arrested after videos of the violence went viral on social media. The incident occurred two months back, when Usman allegedly along with his two other accomplices barged into an apartment in the E-11 sector of Islamabad and shot an obscene video of a girl.

The police took prompt action and arrested the suspects after the videos went viral on social media.

According to the text of the FIR, the incident took place in the apartments located in E-11 where five to six armed men kept both of them in custody and also tortured them. Police say the video was made four to five months ago.

On the other hand, DC Islamabad Hamza Shafqat says that the video is from a few months ago. "Please delete the video and do not share," he requested from the citizens.
