Trade deficit increases up to 70 perent in country: Statistics Bureau

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The latest report issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has shown that the trade deficit has been increased up to 70 percent in the country.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the trade deficit increased in March 2022 up to $3.44 billion. The report states that in the current fiscal year, trade deficit remained US$35.93 billion from July to March.

Meanwhile in Februrary, the trade deficit remained at US$12.1 billion and it would be US$15.45 billion in March.

The bureau says that exports remained up to US$2.70 billion and imports remained at US$6.18 billion. The trade deficit increased up to 5.48 percent in comparison with the last fiscal year. On the other hand, exports have reduced up to 2.84 percent in March 2022 as compared to Feburary 2022.
