Lockdown-hit traders march towards Parliament House in protest

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Traders affected by the lockdown marched towards Parliament to press for their demands, including six-day a week business and relief for them. They staged a sit-in at Zero Point when the police tried to stop their march. Traders said that their today’s protest is peaceful. “We are starving due to coronavirus and the government should not test our patience,” they said. They demanded that the government should open hotel, restaurants and marriage halls as after other businesses have been opened. In Lahore, all caravans gathered at Thokar Niaz Baig. All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran secretary Naeem Mir led the main caravan. Naeem Mir said that their demands were related to economy and COVID-19 SOPs would be followed in letter and spirit. In Lahore, Awami Rickshaw Union, Pakistan Transport Council and Event Management Association took out a joint rally against inflation, unemployment and extortion. The rally started from Expo Centre and ended at Thokar Niaz Baig.
