Traders observe shutter-down strike against increase in withholding tax

LAHORE (92 News) – Traders observed a shutter-down strike in different parts of the country against increase in withholding tax on Tuesday. According to details, traders in Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and several other cities have joined hands against the 0.6 percent increase in the withholding tax. The protesters warned they would withdraw all their savings from banks if the federal government did not withdraw the decision. In Lahore, all the big markets remained closed on the strike call. Markets in Faisalabad also observed a shutter-down call. Meanwhile, the PTI has announced support for the strike.
