Traders welcome decision to end lockdown today instead of August 5

LAHORE (92 News) – Traders have welcomed the government's decision to end the lockdown on Monday instead of August 5. All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran secretary Naeem Mir demanded that the government should also reopen tourist resorts, hotels and marriage halls with the SOPs. He also demanded that the markets timing should be increased to 10pm from 7pm. He said that they had already said that there was no justification for the lockdown on Eidul Azha. "Now the government should compensate for the losses of traders," he said. Meanwhile, markets have started opening after the lifting of the lockdown in Punjab. According to a notification issued by the Primary and Secondary Healthcare secretary, all business places will remain open at 9am-7pm from Monday to Friday. However, medical stores, puncture shops, tandoors and agricultural workshops will be allowed to remained opened for 24 hours. Inter-district transport has been granted to permission to run for 24 hours. On the other hand, educational institutions, marriage halls, restaurants, parks and cinema halls will remain closed. There will be ban on social, religious and sports activities.
