RAWALPINDI (92 News) – The engine and two bogies of Rawal Express derailed near Rawalpindi’s Kaliam Awan area causing a disruption in rail traffic. The incident occurred when the Rawal Express heading towards Lahore from Rawalpindi derailed Kaliam Awan area of Rawalpindi. No loss of life was reported in the incident, while the authorities repaired the railway track and restored the suspended traffic. Train accidents are common in Pakistan, which inherited thousands of kilometers of track and trains from former its colonial power, Great Britain. The crash was the second this year involving the Fareed Express. Earlier this month, more than 20 people have been killed and dozens more injured after two trains carrying hundreds of passengers collided in Pakistan's southern port city. The accident occurred when the incoming Zakria Express from the central city of Multan collided with the Fareed Express, from Lahore, as it waited at Quaidabad Station, also known as Jumma Goth, in the Landi neighborhood of Karachi.
