Transparent elections is top priority of caretaker govt: Hassan Askari

LAHORE (92 News) – Caretaker Punjab chief minister Dr Hasan Askari on Saturday said that holding fair, free and transparent elections is top priority of the caretaker government. Speaking to the journalists after visiting the national poet Allama Iqbal's mausoleum in Lahore, the caretaker chief minister stressed that caretaker governments must provide equal opportunities to all the parties. He said that all the doubts of all political parties will be eliminated after observing the performance of interim government. "It is the responsibility of the interim governments to facilitate the election process," Hassan Askari said. He said that professional individuals will be included in the interim cabinet which will be small and non-political. The caretaker CM said that he neither had any political agenda in the past nor have it now. He offered Fateha at mausoleum of Iqbal and laid a floral wreath on the grave. Hasan Askari also penned down his thoughts in the visitor’s book. On the arrival of the Punjab caretaker CM, the Lahore commissioner, mayor including other high ranks official were present. Whereas strict measurements were taken on that time. Earlier on Friday, Dr Hasan Askari Rizvi was sworn in as caretaker chief minister of Punjab in a ceremony held at Governor House Lahore.
