Treasury members attack & torture Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari in Punjab Assembly

LAHORE (92 News) - The treasury members attacked and tortured Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari in the Punjab Assembly on Saturday.

The treasury lawmakers first besieged the dais. They tortured and slapped him. They also pulled his hair after throwing 'lotas' and chair on him.

The security staff and opposition members saved the deputy speaker from the treasury members. Later, he was taken out of the assembly.

A heavy contingent of police entered the assembly hall. The treasury members again threw lotas and resorted to hooliganism when the deputy speaker returned to the assembly.

Owing to the worst mismanagement, the deputy speaker could not conduct the session. The treasury members chanted the slogans of 'lota, lota' and 'selected govt na manzoor'.

After the hooliganism in the Punjab Assembly, Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari, Punjab chief secretary and the IGP Punjab held an important meeting for security in the assembly.

The contingent of Anti-Riot Police and Punjab police have been deployed outside the assembly to deal with any emergency meeting.
