True champion is one who is not demoralized by failure, says PM

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said that a true champion is the one who is not demoralized by the failure but learns from his defeat. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Under-21 games at Peshawar Sports Complex, the prime minister said that the human defeated when he accepted his defeat. “The man, who has fear of failure, can never become the champion,” he added. Imran Khan noted that life is the name of competition and sports help us to learn the art of competition. He said a true champion is the one who is not demoralized by the failure but learns from his defeat. He also expressed gratitude towards his sports days for making him resilient in his 22-year-old political career, saying he would have conceded defeat if he had not been a sportsman. Imran Khan said that only those nations emerge strong which valiantly cope with the difficult times. He said that Pakistan will also emerge as a strong nation and the youth have an important role in this regard. PM Khan said that the government will give a chance to rural youth to hone their skills in sports and benefit from opportunities. At the occasion, the prime minister also laid out health benefits of sports activities. He has expressed the commitment to promote sporting events at the grassroots level to exploit the true potential of the youth. Before the inauguration, foolproof security arrangements were made for the security of the Under-21 Games. Adviser to Chief Minister on Information Ajmal Khan Wazir said that players from all 35 districts of the province were also present. He also said it is for the first time that such a big sporting event has been planned. He further said the winners and runners-up will be awarded decent cash prizes and a monthly stipend to the medalists and top three position holders. During his Mohmand, Imran Khan will distribute Kafalat Cards to the deserving families under Ehsaas Kafalat Programme besides inauguration of sports gala in Ghalanai. Under the Ehsaas Kafalat Programme, cash stipends of 2000 rupees per month will be given to the most deserving and poorest women. He will also address a public gathering there.
