WASHINGTON (92 News) – Adviser of US President Sajid Tarar termed on Sunday that Donald Trump was taking a big risk by negotiating with the Afghan Taliban. In a special talk to 92 News, after cancellation of peace talks between US and Taliban, the US president’s adviser mentioned that the negotiations and attacks cannot go together. “The cancellation of the peace talks between US and Afghan Taliban is a major blow to the region’s peace and security,” he added. Sajid Tarar also said that the decision of the US president would also impact on the Kashmir cause. “The Taliban were not showing seriousness in the talks. During the peace talks, the embassy was under attacked by the Taliban,” he claimed. The adviser further said that the decision of the US president is expression of his concerns. “Now the Afghan Taliban will have to think about this in the future,” he concluded. Earlier on Saturday, Donald Trump said he cancelled peace talks with Afghanistan’s Taliban leaders after the insurgent group said it was behind an attack in Kabul that killed an American soldier and 11 other people. Trump said he had planned a secret meeting with the Taliban’s “major leaders” on Sunday at a presidential compound in Camp David, Maryland. Trump said he also planned to meet with Afghanistan’s president. But Trump said he immediately called the talks off when the insurgents said they were behind the attack. “If they cannot agree to a ceasefire during these very important peace talks, and would even kill 12 innocent people, then they probably don’t have the power to negotiate a meaningful agreement anyway,” Trump said on Twitter.
