Pakistan,Turkey agree to further enhance trade, economic ties

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to further enhance trade and economic relations. The understanding came during a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday. Later, addressing a joint news conference with the Turkish counterpart, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan and Turkey have excellent relations and Turkey have always stood by Pakistan in the hour of trial. “Our love with Turkey like a voice of people’s heart, the relation of Pak-Turk is not limited till the government; rather it has spread in all over between the people of both the countries,” he said. He said, during the meeting, bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments will be discussed. He thanked the Turkey over its support for Pakistan in different forums. The foreign minister said that Turkey supported Pakistan on FAT in international level. He welcomed the stance of Turkish minister over Kashmir issue and Afghanistan matter also discussed in the meeting. On the occasion, the Turkish foreign minister felt happiness in Pakistan; he said that Turkish understood Pakistan as second home. He felt proud on his arrival after the newly-elected government in Pakistan and congratulated the new government. The Turkish minister vowed to make trade relation stronger with Pakistan. “Propaganda against Islam is being increased in the Europe, we run campaign against the blasphemous competition of cartoons in Holland and we always will go forward with Pakistan in this matter, he mentioned. Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu reached in Pakistan on yesterday night on a two-day official visit. He was received by senior officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan.The Turkish minister will also extend the message of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Pakistani leadership. Meanwhile, delegation level talks have started between Pakistan and Turkey at the foreign office in Islamabad in which both the sides are discussing the entire gamut of bilateral relations. Pakistani side is being led by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi while the Turkish side by its Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. The two sides are discussing ways and means to further promote economic and trade relations. Earlier, the two foreign ministers also held a one- on-one meeting. Earlier in a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said apart from meeting his Pakistani counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu will also call on President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
