I turned to ‘caliphate’ due to social media, says Naureen Leghari

HYDERABAD (92 News) – Naureen Leghari, who was recovered from the custody of terrorists during an operation in Lahore’s Punjab Housing Society, has said that she had turned to the ‘caliphate’ due to social media.

In 92 News Programme’s 92@8 on Monday, she said that she saw on Facebook and Instagram that the ‘caliphate’ is the definition of Islam.

“Terrorists contacted me and told me religious words. About the migration, they asked me to come to Lahore and I reached Lahore from Hyderabad by bus,” she said.

She said that she had never visited Syria. “Terrorists portray a wrong picture of Islam. The youth should see my example and should not take social media sites seriously,” she said.

Naureen, 19, told Sadia Afzaal that how she contacted Pak Army and sought its help.

She said that she was very happy at timely action of the Pak Army. “I am proud of the Pak Army.”

Naureen’s father said that she lacked in training and they could not stop her from using social media to such an extent.
