Two more arrested in Mashal Khan case

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Police have on Sunday arrested two more accused in connection with the murder of Mashal Khan, a journalism student in Mardan.

The number of people arrested in Mashal murder case has reached 15 while the court handed over seven accused involved in the murder of journalism student to police on one-day physical remand.

On the other hand, people continue to visit the house of Mashal Khan for condolences.

Mashal Khan, a student of Mass Commutation at Abdul Wali Khan University, was beaten, stripped and shot to death, and his body was mutilated by a mob comprising his classmates, students and university’s employees on Thursday.

The postmortem report of young Mashal Khan of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan revealed that he was killed by a gunshot. Several accused nominated in the case had already been arrested. The nabbed eight accused have been handed over to police on an eight-day remand.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had signed the summary for a judicial inquiry into Mashal’s killing. The chief minister assured provincial assembly that a judicial committee will be constituted to investigate the incident.

The Peshawar High Court Chief Justice will form the committee for the judicial inquiry of the brutal lynching of the Mardan university student.
