MACH/BAHAWALPUR (92 News) – Two convicted murderers were executed in Mach Jail and Bahawalpur early on Wednesday morning. Ameer Hamza, covicted of murder of a perosn over a domestic dispute in 1995, was hanged in Mach jail. His family had exhausted all appeals available, including of mercy as well. Sikandar, a former armyman, was covicted of murder of his superior in 2002. He was sentenced to death by a martial court. There are over 8,000 death convicts in Pakistan jails, mostly convicted of murder and terrorist activities. More than 60 convicts have been hanged since the prime minister lifted a de-facto moratorium on the death penalty after the gruesome attack on a school in Peshawar.
