Two killed, 34 injured as passenger bus overturns in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA (92 News) – At least two people were killed after a speeding passenger bus overturned near Hiran Minar interchange in Sheikhupura Tuesday morning. According to the reports, the accident occurred near Hiran Minar at the Sheikhupura Motorway. It was also reported that the driver of the bus fell asleep during driving. The injured persons have been shifted to a DHQ hospital. The bus was travelling from Kohat to Lahore. The passengers were rescued by Rescue 1122 and FWO personnel. Earlier, five people were killed and more than thirteen others wounded in collision between a trailer and a passenger bus on motorway near Kalar Kahar in Chakwal. According to the details garnered, the trailer crossed the divider line being uncontrolled and collided with a passenger bus near Kalar Kahar. It was also reported that the accident took place due to brake failure of the trailer. Due to the accident, five people were died on the spot and 15 were injured. The rescue teams arrived on the scene and injured persons shifted to nearby hospital.
