Two killed as roof collapses in Lahore’s Samanabad

LAHORE/PESHAWAR (92 News) – Two people were killed Tuesday morning after the roof of a house collapsed in Lahore's Samanabad. According to the rescue officials, five people, including a seven-year-old girl and two men, have been rescued from the debris. Seventy-five-year-old Muhammad Shareef died in the accident. As per the neighbours, one woman and two children are still trapped. An operation is under way to rescue them. Three families lived in the house on the upper floors of the building, while there were shops on the ground floor.
Four members of family die in Mardan roof collapse
On the other hand, four members of a family died in a roof collapse incident in Katlang tehsil of Mardan. A man, his wife and two children were killed when the rooftop of their mud house caved in at Farash Colony in Katlang. The roof of the house was collapsed in the night but people of the area remained unaware of the incident due to wind storm. The deceased were identified as Zakirullah, his wife and their two children three years old Abdul Samad and two years’ Sapna, rescue officials said. The emergency workers transferred bodies of deceased to Type D Katlang Hospital, officials said.

Earlier, five people were killed when the roof of a house collapsed in Bahar area, Khawazakhela tehsil. Moreover, locals rescued three people and shifted them to Saidu Sharif Hospital. The deceased included two children. Meanwhile, four people were killed when a car skidded off the road and fell in Swat River a day before Eid. All the four riders died on the spot. The rescuers recovered the bodies of the two victims. Efforts are going to locate two more bodies.
