Two killed due to flood-like situation in Islamabad after cloudburst

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Two people were killed due to flood-like situation after cloudburst in the federal capital on Wednesday.

In Sector E 11, a woman and her child died after a house was inundated.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, heavy rains caused high water level in Nullah Lai and water accumulation in E 11. Army troops are busy in assisting the civil administration in rescue and relief efforts. Contingencies plans in place to meet any flood situation.

On the other hand, the administration has cleared all roads and the work is going on to pump out water from basements.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the people to be cautious during the monsoon spell.

He directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other institutions to be alert to tackle in any emergency.
