Two killed in New Karachi mysterious explosion

KARACHI (92 News) - At least two people were killed and two others sustained injuries in a mysterious blast in New Karachi Thursday night.

According to the reports, the blast took place due to a gas pipeline exploding inside the shop, said police. The shop was built on a nullah, and we believe the blast took place inside the nullah because of gas, it added.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot on the report of the blast at Bashir Chowk in Khameeso Goth, New Karachi. The Bomb Disposal Squad has reached the spot to collect evidence.

The Bomb Disposal Squad will ascertain the cause of blast because there were gas cylinders in the shop and it could be cylinder blast.

The blast caused power outages in the area, which severely hampered rescue efforts. Aside from the casualties, the building of the shop also got damaged. They said two bodies and three injured people were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
